INNOVATIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL PARK IN THE CITY OF THE STEEL INDUSTRY
METINVEST PARK is situated right at the center of the city of Mariupol, Ukraine as a campus park of the new university Metinvest Polytechnic. As Mariupol is the Mecca of the steel industry (the largest industry in the country) in Ukraine, the park design is fully inspired by the raw landscape of the steel ore quarry, the birthplace of steel. And the park is also meant to be the very first park in the world being the experimental field of recycling SLAG (a by-product of the steel manufacturing process) in landscape design.
